About

Following a generous gift made by the late Sri Krishna Pathak, a Friend of the College, Exeter College seeks to elect to the SKP Scholarship from among students who are normally resident in India and have an undergraduate degree from an institution in India, who also have an offer of admission to study for a DPhil at Oxford University, starting in the academic year 2016–17.
Where a suitable candidate is identified, the Scholarship will be awarded in conjunction with an Oxford University Clarendon Fund award, and together these awards will fund all University and College fees and a grant to cover living expenses. The Scholarship is awarded for one year in the first instance, and will be renewable for two further years subject to satisfactory academic progress being made.

Eligibility

  • be an applicant to the University of Oxford for admission to a graduate degree starting in the academic year 2016–17, who has been offered a place at Oxford University to read for a graduate degree in any subject that would lead to the economic development of India;
  • be awarded an Oxford University Clarendon award (the SKP Scholarship will not normally be awarded as a standalone award)
  • be normally resident in India;
  • have an undergraduate degree from an institution of Higher Education in India;
  • become a member of Exeter College and commit to remaining at Exeter College for the duration of their course;
  • give an undertaking of intention to return to India for a minimum of two years after graduation.

Scholarship Amount Details

This scholarship will provide full recommended allowance of  £13,590 per annum in addition to clarendon award. 

Procedure

Applicants should apply to the university directly for a Clarendon Award, marking Exeter as their preferred College. If an applicant is successful in attaining a Clarendon Award and meets the above criteria, he/she will automatically be considered for a SKP scholarship.
