Erasmus Mundus the global cooperation and mobility programme in the field of higher education is run by European Commission and implemented by Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). The main objective of the programme is to promote dialogue and understanding between the people of third world countries through exchange of culture and education. The programme aims to: -Enhance quality of education in European countries -To promote European Union worldwide as a centre of excellence and higher studies -Promote intercultural understanding between the people of third world countries and Europen Union Erasmus Mundus provides 15 fully funded scholarships for non-EU students each year for their Joint Master Degree in AquaCulture, Environment and Society (EM JMD ACES). This Joint Master Degree Programme will give unique opportunity to students from third world countries to study and explore their practical and theoretical skills in Universities of UK, France and crete. This full-time two years course is specifically designed to target high calibre students from EU and non-EU countries with Bachelors degree in aquaculture, marine science, marine biology, biology, environmental or social sciences who wish to polish their skills. The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship will cover full tuition fees, living and travel expenses.
The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for Joint Master Degree in Aquaculture, Environment and Society is open to students who meet the following eligibility criteria:
1.The applicant must have bachelor degree or equivalent in any one of the fields of environmental or social science (Aquaculture-related studies, Marine Science, Aquatic Biology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or Marine Resources,
Environmental Economics and Environmental Policy) at the time of applying for scholarship i.e. by February 2017
2.Applicant competency in using the English language should be equivalent to 6.5 Academic IELTS (with at least 6.0 in all four components i.e listening, reading, writing and speaking)
3.Mature students and/or those with practical working knowledge in aquaculture industry will be given preference

2.The last date for submitting application is 17th February 2017
3.Shortlisted candidates will be informed of interview by 6th March 2017
4.Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on skype on 13th & 14th March 2017
5.Interviewed candidates will be informed about results on 17th March 2017

B. Following documents should be emailed to ACES@sams.ac.uk along with the application.
1.Completed ACES application form (in Microsoft Word) in English, including a 350-word statement of motivation and 350-word essay reflecting on your professional experience and understanding of the issue facing the aquaculture industry.
2.Completed UHI International Student Application Form (applicable for ALL students, including European). This is a standard UHI application form, which needs to be completed in English.
3.Curriculum vitae (CV) in freestyle format
4.A professional reference
5.Copy of your passport
6.Copy of your degree certificate (plus certified translation into English if applicable)
7.Copy of your transcript of marks (plus certified translation into English if applicable)
8.Copy of your IELTS English language test result with validity until the end of Sept 2016 (You must have official proof of your English proficiency by the
time you apply for the ACES course)
