International Scholarships by Indian Government for students

These days it is a common trend among students to go overseas for pursuing higher education, especially if a particular university is famous for some specific course or unavailability of the course in the home country. And, as easy as it has become to go for international education, it is also becoming easier to get the international education funded. International Scholarships by Indian Government are a small contribution of Govt.of India towards providing financial aid to students for international education.

Some important International Scholarships by Indian Government

1. S.N.Bose Scholars Programme that awards scholarships to 56 students for pursuing Bachelor’s and Master’s degree course providing an opportunity to meritorious and deserving students to study abroad, do innovative work in the field of science and research.

2. National Overseas Scholarship for SC which is awarded to 60 students, amount worth $15400 per student is disbursed, student must belong to scheduled caste community, should have secured not less that 55% marks in the Bachelor’s or Master’s course, should be below the age of 35 years and whose family income must not be exceeding Rs. 600000 p.a.

3. National Overseas Scholarship for ST that awards 20 scholarships worth $15400 p.a. to every student who belongs to the schedule tribe community is below 35 years of age, has scored a minimum of 60% in relevant degree for Master Degree, Ph.D. and Post Doctoral Research and whose family income doesn’t exceed Rs 25000 per month.

4. National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities which is given to 20 students, amount worth $15400 per student who are disabled and have secured not less that 55% makes in the Bachelor’s or Master’s course, are below the age of 35 years and whose family income doesn’t exceed Rs. 600000 p.a.

5. New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship given to only 2 students who have completed Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in the subject or allied fields with minimum 65% marks for Master’s or Ph.D. respectively, are below the age of 40 years and who want to go for the subject fields of Agriculture and Renewable energy in some specific universities.

6. Italian Government Scholarship for Indian students which is offered to Indian Nationals whose age is between 18 to 35 years and who want to go for higher studies/research projects at higher education institutions within the Italian State Education and Research system.

7. Korean Government Scholarship programme which awards scholarships worth 900000 won (KRW), to 8 applicants who must be under 40 years of age, have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and want to apply for Master’s or Post-Doctoral degree in subjects mentioned in Korean Language.

Note: – The above mentioned International Scholarships by Indian Government also cover air travel expenses of students and some of these cover the health insurance of the students.

Some important International Scholarships by Indian Government
