About

Post Matric Scholarship for Minority Students is awarded to meritorious and economically weaker students belonging to minority communities such as Muslims, Christain, Buddhist, Jains, Sikhs & Parsis so as to lighten their financial burden and encourage them to take up higher education. The scholarship will be awarded to students for undergoing their studies from government or private higher secondary School/College/University including residential institutes and private institutes nominated by State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned. The scholarship will also cover vocational courses offered by ITI/ITC and recognised by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

The selection of students for Post-Matric Scholarship will be done on the basis of academic merit and financial condition of the student. However, students belonging to BPL family will be given first preference in ascending order of their income. The scholarship will be granted for entire duration of the course subject to the candidate fulfilling requisite eligible condition for continuance. Out of the total number of scholarships, 30% will be reserved for girl students.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Communities are:

  • You must belong to minority community as notified in Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
  • You must score at least 50% marks in your last year's examinations.
  • Your parents/guardians income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.

Scholarship Amount Details

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Communities offer following benefits and allowances:

A. For classes XI and XII If you are a Hosteler: Actual subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.7,000 p.a. If you are a Day Scholar: Actual subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.7,000 p.a.
B. For technical and vocational courses of XI and XII level. If you are a Hosteler: Actual subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.10,000 p.a. If you are a Day Scholar: Actual subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.10,000 p.a.
C. For undergraduate, post graduate. If you are a Hosteler: Actual subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.3,000 p.a. If you are a Day Scholar: Actual subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.3,000 p.a.
D. Maintenance Allowance: i) Classes XI and XII including technical and vocational courses of this level Hosteler: Rs.380 P.M Day Scholar: Rs.230 P.M (ii) Courses other than technical and professional courses at undergraduate and post-graduate level Hosteler: Rs.570 P.M Day Scholar: Rs.300 P.M (iii) M. Phil and Ph.D. Hosteler: Rs.1200 P.M Day Scholar: Rs.550 P.M

Procedure

Application for Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students can be made online through National Scholarship Portal.

  • Candidates need to go through online registration process before applying for scholarship
  • Click on the apply link of the site and you will be directed to National Scholarship Portal's home page
  • Again click on NewUser/Register tab to register yourself on the site. If you have already registered then just click on login tab to access the online application form
  • Fill in the application form upload the necessary documents and submit the form

List of documents to be scanned and uploaded for both fresh and renewal scholarships as under:
i)Student Photo (Mandatory)
ii)Institution Verification Form. (Mandatory)
iii)Self-declaration of Income Certificate by the student. (Mandatory).
iv)Self-declaration of community by the student. (Mandatory)
v)In case of Fresh: Self Attested Certificate of ‘Previous Academic Mark sheet’ as filled in Form. (Mandatory).
vi)In case of Renewal: Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Year Marksheet as filled in the Form. (Mandatory).
vii)Fee Receipt of current course year. (Mandatory).
viii)Proof of Bank Account in the name of student. (Mandatory)
ix)Aadhaar Card (optional)
x)Residential Certificate. (Mandatory).
