Oxford University in association with Somerville College offers 3 full Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarship to students who are either resident of India or have previously studied at higher institution located in India. The scholarship covers course fees, college fees and a grant for living costs for full-time students up to £14,296 approx. Rs.1239567/-.
The Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, relevance of studies to the Centre’s interdisciplinary aims, understanding of developmental challenges faced by India, and leadership and entrepreneurial potential. The scholarship will be tenable at Somerville College and any applicant applying for the prescribed course at Oxford University will be automatically considered for this scholarship. The scholarship will be applicable for the full duration of the prescribed course.
In order to be considered for Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarship the applicant must satisfy following eligibility criteria:
The applicant must be a resident of India or have previously studied at an Indian higher education institution
The applicant must hold a graduate degree from recognised University in India
The applicant must be applying for one of the eligible master’s courses or for a DPhil course listed below:
i) MSc/MPhil in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management
ii MSc/MPhil in Water Science, Policy and Management
iii)MSc/MPhil in Environmental Change and Management
iv)MSc/MPhil Modern South Asian Studies
v)MPhil in Development Studies
vi)Master of Public Policy (MPP)
vii)Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL)
Last date of applying for Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarship is 6 or 20 January 2017, depending on your course.
Scholarship Amount Details
Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarship covers fees, college fees and a grant for living costs for full-time students of upto £14,296
Students undergoing part-time courses will receive a study support grant instead.

There is no separate application process for Scholarship, candidates applying for relevant master course by January deadline (6 or 20 January 2017, depending on the course) will be automatically considered for Oxford-Indira Gandhi Graduate Scholarship.
Candidates short-listed for candidates may be invited to attend an interview via skype which are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 11th April 2017
You may be required to submit suitable evidence that you meet the English language requirement for your course if;
i) Your first language is not English, or
ii) your first language is English, but you are not a national of a majority English-speaking country recognised by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

Three academic references (letters of recommendation) to support your intellectual ability, academic achievement and motivation
Official Transcripts giving details about your previous University degree
One or Two pages CV/Resume highlighting their academic achievement and experience
Personal statement around 300 words explaining your motivation for applying for the course at Oxford
Written work around 2000 words (if required)
