The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India(OCSI), a non-profit alumni organisation based in New Delhi, India offers equal opportunity scholarships to Indian graduate students who wish to pursue post-graduate studies and research in any of the subjects available at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, UK. The main objective of Oxford and Cambridge Society of India(OCSI) scholarship is to support worthwhile Indian students financially to take up studies at Oxford/Cambridge Universities  which has long been a favourite destination for Indian Students. Though the number of scholarships and the value of scholarships available under OCSI scholarship programme is not fixed and it may vary from year to year dpending upon the funds available and generosity of donors.

The OCSI Scholarship are  Equal Opportunity Scholarships i.e. OCSI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, disability, age, sex or ancestry while selecting its Scholars.Please note that relatives of the Executive Committee of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.




In order to apply for OCSI scholarship the candidate must satisfy following eligibility criteria:
1.The applicant must be an Indian national
2.The applicant must be residing in India
3.The applicant's age should not exceed 30 years on 1st September 2017
4.The applicant must be a graduate of any recognised University Located in India if applying to a second undergraduate or for a postgraduate course (applicants who are expected to graduate in the year of the award are also eligible to apply for    
   the  awards), or be from a school in India if applying for an undergraduate course.
5.The applicant must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. Candidates are required to furnish the proof of admission to the Executive Committee members of
   OCSI before the scholarship fund would be released.
6.The applicant must intend to pursue a course of study that is one of the following:

  • Research leading to the PhD degree
  • One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.)
  • Taught and research based Masters programmes of various durations (including M. Sc., engineering, medicine)
  • Second Bachelors degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status
  • Bachelors degree programme

8.The applicant must be admitted to the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford through the University’s normal academic procedures. OCSI only grants scholarships and has no role to play in admission process.

  • Application for Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarships 2017-18 is open for application now
  • The last date of submitting an application for scholarship will be 15th May  2017.
  • Short-listing of candidates for interview: Mid June 2017
  • Interviews: July 2017 in New Delhi
  • Announcement of scholarship awards: July 2017


Scholarship Amount Details

1.Financial aid available to students  under Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Scholarship are as follows:

  • INR Rs.4,00,000 (Rupees 4 Lacs only) tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford
  • INR 100,000 (Rupees one lac only) tenable only at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge
  • INR 100,000(Rupees one lac only) tenable only at St.Hilda’s College, University of Oxford

2.Recommendation letter in support of student from OCSI for acquiring scholarships from other scholarship awarding bodies.
3.Assistance for  obtaining  fast-tracked education loan from an Indian financial institution, based on OCSI scholarship letter, with automatic loan qualification status from a leading financial institution.
4.Complimentary lifetime membership to Oxford and Cambridge Society of India
5.Mentoring from OCSI member to support the Scholar during his/her stay at Oxford/Cambridge University
6.On returning to India OCSI will provide full assistance to reassimilate in the professional environment of India.



  • Application forms for OCSI scholarships will be available for students from February 2017. Students can access the application form by clicking on apply link of the site.
  • Fully completed application form should be sent to Oxford and Cambridge Society of India by 30th April 2017.
  • Candidates shortlisted for interviews will be informed by 15th May. OCSI selection committee will have a final say in selection of candidates for scholarship
  • All shortlisted candidates will be required to physically present themselves before the interview panel at a designated date in New Delhi, usually in the month of June.
  • All short-listed candidates will be required to physically attend an interview with the OCSI scholarship committee at a designated venue in New Delhi, usually in June.
  • No TA/DA will be given to students to attend the interview at New Delhi.
  • Award of scholarship to few selected students will be made by the end of June.
