In order to improve the socio-economic conditions of Muslim communities in Non-member communities all over the world the Islamic development bank Jeddah, Saudi Arabia launched its Idb scholarship program in 1983. The banks main aim is to recognize and develop inherent potential of Muslim communities and award them with scholarships so that they can pursue their studies, despite financial hardship and making valuable contribution in nation Building process.

Primary objective of the Islamic development Bank(IDB) Scholarship

The objective of the IDB scholarship is to provide financial assistance for the academically meritorious and financially needy students so that they can pursue their degree courses in the approved areas thereby making meaningful contribution in the development of community and the country.


In order to qualify for Islamic development bank scholarship, the students:

  • must have scored at least 70% marks in English,  Physics,  Chemistry  and Biology/Mathematics  at SSC (10+2) level except for students from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu who should have scored minimum 80% in aggregate in above four subjects.
  • candidates applying for admission to LAW course should have scored at least 65% marks in English and optional/elective subjects at matriculation exam(SSC)
  • age of the applicant must be below 24 years and the candidate should not be availing any other scholarship at the time of applying
  • student parents must belong to an economically weaker section of the society and is unable to pay his fees.
  • should not apply for payment or self-financing seats.
  • must show a willingness to serve their community and country after completion of their students

Please note: IDB Scholarship is tenable for Bachelor’s Degree Courses in Medicine Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Bio-Technology Engineering (all branches) Agriculture, and Bachelor of Law(BA+ LLB).


Deadline Details

1.Registration for Islamic Development Bank Scholarship starts from 1st June 2017.
2.Last date of submission of application form is 16th August 2017.

Scholarship Amount Details

The candidates selected for  Islamic Development Bank Scholarship will be entitled to receive a monthly stipend of Rs.5000/- approx. and additional Rs. 15000/- approx for stationeries and clothes per year from the month in which the Islamic Development Bank finalizes the selection till the final examination of the course subject provided the candidate shows satisfactory performance in each semester/annual examination.


1.Students must type application clearly with ink in block letters and be prepared with two sets of all supporting documents.
2. All information required must be provided in English. Please attach certified translation of document that is not originally in English.

3.All required information must be provided otherwise your application may not be processed.
4. Please mention the state in which you are domiciled. e.g. Assam, Bihar, Tamil Nadu etc on the first page of scholarship application form

Original form completed in all respect along with one duplicate copy should be submitted to :

Documents to be attached:
1.Attested copies of class Xth & class XIIth Marksheet and certificates.
2.Attested copies of birth certificate if date of birth is not mentioned class Xth documents
3.Please enclose a copy of fee deposit receipt issued from the college/institution as a testimonial of date of admission
4.Parental income certificate
5.Two photographs in passport size (35mm x 35mm)  with name & state on its back side.
6.One 9 inches x 4 inches size self-addressed  envelope with Rs.22/- postage stamp affixed on it

1.If the candidate is not admitted at the time of submission of application form candidates will have to submit the proof of admission immediately to the MET Delhi office after getting admission in college mentioning the state of domicile, but definitely before the interview date.
