Department of Science & Technology, Government of India invites application from Indian nationals for DST's Overseas Visiting Fellowship programme 2016-17 in Nano Science and Technology. The fellowship which will be awarded under the DST's capacity building programme "Nano Mission" will provide a unique opportunity to 10 Indian researchers to conduct advanced research in laboratories/Institutions abroad in the field of Nano-Science and Technology. The duration of fellowship shall be one year and during this tenure, each selected fellow will receive handsome stipend in US Dollars from the host institution.
In order to apply for this fellowship the applicant must have a completed PhD degree in science and engineering from recognised Institutions located in India. In addition, an applicant is required to submit a concise research proposal in the area of nano-science and technology that he/she would be undertaking during the fellowship period.
The selection of the fellows will be done by DST Nano Mission Overseas Visiting Fellowship Committee. While choosing candidates, the committee will give preference to those candidates who have not availed any post-doctoral position abroad.
1. The DST Overseas visiting fellowship in Nano Science and Technology is open to all Indian Nationals who have completed their PhD degree in Science and Engineering from recognised institution located in India.
2. Those who have submitted their thesis and waiting for results are also eligible to apply.
3. The applications should be accompanied by an offer/invitation letter from the host institution and acceptance from the prospective adviser. The letter must mention that the host has reviewed the research proposal and is willing to provide all
infrastructural support without any overhead cost, in addition to extending all support for visa in respect of the selected candidates.
4. Preference will be given to those candidates who have not availed any postdoctoral position abroad.
